How to do the Standing Calf Raise

  1. Stand with your shoulders beneath the bar, toes on the platform edge.
  2. Let your heels drop below the platform, keeping your knees straight.
  3. Push up through your toes, raising your heels as high as possible.
  4. Slowly lower your heels for a good stretch — don't roll your ankles.
Full technique — 6 steps
  1. Set your shoulders under the pads or bar and place the balls of your feet on the platform edge.
  2. Stand tall with hips directly under your shoulders and let your heels hang below the platform.
  3. Keep your knees nearly straight and hold the handles or bar to stay centered.
  4. Drive through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible.
