How to do the Resistance Band Lat Pulldown

  1. Kneel facing the band, keeping your torso upright and core tight.
  2. Grip the band overhand and extend your arms fully above your head.
  3. Pull the band down toward your upper chest, bending your elbows.
  4. Slowly return to the starting position, feeling a stretch in your upper back.
Full technique — 7 steps
  1. Anchor the band overhead and kneel or sit facing it with your torso tall.
  2. Grip the band overhand just outside shoulder width and start with arms fully extended.
  3. Set your ribs down and keep your shoulders from shrugging toward your ears.
  4. Pull your elbows down and slightly back, bringing your hands toward your upper chest.
  5. Finish when your elbows reach your sides and your lats are fully shortened.
  6. Let the band rise under control until your arms straighten overhead again.
  7. Begin the next rep from a full overhead stretch without leaning or swinging.
