How to do the Battle Rope Waves

  1. Stand holding a battle rope in each hand, facing the anchor point.
  2. Bend your knees with your hips slightly back, keeping your back straight.
  3. Quickly move your arms up and down, creating waves traveling down the ropes.
  4. Maintain a steady rhythm and keep your feet planted throughout the movement.
Full technique — 7 steps
  1. Anchor the ropes securely and stand facing the attachment with a handle in each hand.
  2. Set your feet about shoulder width apart with knees bent and hips slightly back.
  3. Hold the handles with a neutral grip and let the rope ends hang with light tension.
  4. Tighten your stomach and keep your back flat as you settle into an athletic stance.
  5. Drive the ropes by rapidly lifting and dropping the arms to send waves toward the anchor.
  6. Keep the waves continuous by matching your arm rhythm to the rope speed.
  7. Stay planted through your feet and maintain rope tension until the interval ends.
