Full technique — 8 steps
- Lie on one side with the foam roller under the outer thigh of the bottom leg.
- Prop yourself on your forearm and opposite foot to control how much bodyweight presses down.
- Start near the upper outer thigh, keeping the roller below the hip bone.
- Roll slowly down the outer thigh until just above the outside of the knee.
- Move back and forth through that range, shifting slightly to find tighter lateral thigh areas.
- When you find a tender spot, stop there briefly and breathe without tensing up.
- Avoid rolling onto the knee joint or directly onto the bony point of the hip.
- Switch sides and repeat the same pass on the other outer thigh.
